ECS Receives "Innovative Project" Support Grant from the Sarah Ralston Foundation!

ECS is proud to receive a 2024 Innovative Project Support Grant from The Sarah Ralston Foundation, joining a diverse group of nonprofit organizations committed to addressing the most pressing needs of vulnerable, underserved older adults across Philadelphia. These projects span a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, housing, digital literacy, and community engagement, with a focus on empowering this population and fostering resilience.

ECS received funding for The LiveWell Program, which will provide nutritional education, fitness classes, and wellness workshops to help older adults manage chronic diseases and improve quality of life. The program is based at its St. Barnabas Community Resource Center in West Philadelphia.

The three-year grant brings $105,000 to expand ECS’ health and wellness efforts. "The Sarah Ralston Innovative Project grant is vital in helping us expand wellness offerings tailored to the needs of the older adults we serve. With this funding, we can create activities and workshops that not only enhance their lifestyles but also foster meaningful social connections, empowering our community to thrive," commented Pamela Egleston, Director of Health and Wellness programming at ECS.

ECS extends its gratitude to The Sarah Ralston Foundation for recognizing the importance of health and wellness programming for the people ECS serves, and for their broader, long-running efforts to invest in the aspirations of older adults in underserved Philadelphia communities.
