As the leader of Episcopal Community Services, I am often asked how faith drives our mission.
To that, I say we are led by our common call to service—a call issued by our Baptismal Covenant: To strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.I believe the best thing a person can do is lead a life that is dedicated to service—one that delivers the most positive impact for others. Words written or spoken can inspire, but supporting others and supporting impact, true impact, is the ultimate measurement of an individual’s character. It is against this standard that I measure myself.
In my four years and counting with ECS, we’ve seen monumental transformation in our participants and in the agency. In the last six months alone, we introduced a new look and a new strategic plan representing a new direction.
You have remained faithful in our ability to improve lives, and we are tremendously appreciative. With your support, we met our fundraising goal for the 2017 fiscal year.
Your gifts of time, treasure, and talent show that you, too, believe in the astonishing possibility of people. Your partnership in this work means the world to me, and to everybody else at ECS—staff, board, and participants.
Thank you.
