During times of crisis—especially in times of crisis—we seek ways to be of help to others.
There has been an outpouring of support from our community asking how they help. Donors of all levels, volunteers, program participants, and staff included.
Though living in uncertainty, people want to contribute in one way, shape, or form. And there is a multitude of ways that you can—be it through ECS or another vessel for good. Thousands of people rely on ECS programming each year.
Here are some ways you can help them directly:
- Consider making an unrestricted gift to ensure our essential programs and services continue. Parents and children continue receiving services while in shelter. Unrestricted gifts let us meet their ever-changing needs during this pandemic—and in its aftermath. These gifts allow us to accommodate the safety and educational needs of residents, the needs of participants in our other programs, and helps cover essential duty pay for staff on the front lines.
- Parents and children experiencing homelessness are in need of essentials. Cross items off of their Amazon Wish List. These products are in high demand at St. Barnabas Mission. Toiletries, personal hygiene items, and joyful activity kits for kids are among those included.
- On Amazon Smile, designate Episcopal Community Services as your charity of choice. Amazon will donate 0.5% of your overall purchase to our programs and services.
For the health and safety of strangers and loved ones alike, we encourage everybody to stay home. We are not currently organizing in-person volunteer activities or asking you to travel to donate nonperishable goods. Practicing social distancing is yet another way we are helping.
Please, stay well.
