Make a Difference: Host a Summer Intern

Written by Episcopal Community Services | Mar 22, 2017 4:56:22 PM

Episcopal Community Services is proud to be a WorkReady provider for the third year in a row.

Aligning with our youth and workforce development initiatives, WorkReady connects talented young people to opportunities in order to build a city where meaningful work is accessible to all its residents.

Summer internships allow our youth participants to develop skills and career objectives through workplace exposure, and they provide real-world experience in a venue in which interns can practice the skills they’ve already learned.

We are currently seeking work/internship sites to host our participants over the summer months. From early July through mid-August (dates TBA), partnering worksites will host interns for a total of 120 hours over a six week period (20 hours per week). Concurrently, they will participate in professional development programming at ECS one day per week.

This extra on-site help for your organization comes at no cost to you. But more importantly, when you partner with ECS, you’ll be making a long-lasting impact on the lives of motivated young people.

Quality worksites will: correspond with interns' interests and skill levels; connect interns with an adult supervisor; and provide interns with the opportunity to learn and practice workplace skills in a safe and supportive environment

An ample and well-trained workforce is essential for local economic development—and as a WorkReady provider with your help, we’re building one!
